Hi, I’m Eric Wier.
I am a Baltimore-based photographer who captures the beauty of the things around me via digital and 35mm film.
My Approach
What began as an escape from my day job as a biologist and toxicologist has become a passion that lets me showcase the unlikely beauty of Charm City. I am fascinated by the relationship between the Chesapeake Bay and the railroad, which has historically facilitated the efficient transportation of goods through Baltimore. Although the port remains extensively used, significant portions of the railroad infrastructure have succumbed to disuse and have been progressively reabsorbed by the bay.
Analog
I am dedicated to the analog photography process, from shooting to hand-developing 35mm film. I hope to explore 120 film and darkroom printing in the future.
Macro photography
As an avid miniature wargaming hobbyist, I am exploring macro photography to capture vignettes of miniature worlds. I am a founder of the Between the Bolter and Me blog, where I display some of my miniature photography.
